About Me
Amy Sterling, LMT #12821
I have been in the massage industry since 2006 and am a graduate of Ashmead College.
I feel in love with massage back in 2004, after a bunch of marketing led me to take a tour of the local massage school. Before the tour I had considered nursing school or something else in the health care industry. As I toured Ashmead, I instantly fell in love with the idea of being able to help others in a way that didn't involve a ton of school (and the squeamish parts involved in most healthcare settings).
From the first few months of school, I knew I had found my calling. It was the prefect mix of science and healing. I loved the balance of incorporating the western way of addressing the mechanical body, and the more eastern way of addressing the spiritual body. I was eager to learn how to ease people's pain and stress.
When I started my career, I found I had a natural skill for the treatment and deep pressure massage. It was so rewarding to help someone recover movement, decreases pain and improve quality of life. As I continued to hone my skills, I also fell in love with just being present and giving people a space to relax and take a breather from every day stressors and worries.
I like to use a variety of modalities in my message including, deep tissue, Swedish, cupping, and hot stones to promote serenity and healing. I really do enjoy providing a custom experience for my clients. I want the massage to be what they need and want, not what I think they need.
My person time is usually spent hanging out with my husband and daughter. You can usually find us either going on a adventure somewhere outside, playing some Minecraft as a family or spending time with friends.
